History
Mount Moriah Christian School was founded in 1985 as an outreach ministry of the Mount Moriah Church. The first preschool class started with 19 students. The school has since grown to include pre-school through 8th grade with enrollment exceeding 200 students.
Mission
The Mount Moriah Christian School is dedicated to providing a family-friendly, Bible-based education to its students. The School is on MISSION to encourage, equip, and energize students to LOVE Jesus and others, GROW in knowledge and wisdom, and LIVE the Kingdom life. We desire to equip students with the necessary resources to build confidence, achieve academic excellence, and develop skills that translate to success in secondary school and beyond.
Philosophy
The teaching of academics is only one part of a child’s education. Spiritual and moral values, proper attitudes, respect for authority and for the rights and feelings of others are also important in training children to become mature Christian leaders. Education that includes only the academics is inferior as it lacks the foundation for ongoing achievement. The foundation for moral and spiritual teaching is the Word of God, the Bible.
God has given each child to his parents, who, in turn, are entrusting our school with a very vital part of his/her training. We consider our share in the education of this child to be a sacred trust and are committed to the success of each and every student. Each child is a human being endowed with God-given abilities and unique personality. We recognize that each student will respond differently to that which is presented; however, ALL of them will be exhorted to produce to their fullest potential.
First and foremost at Mount Moriah Christian School, we offer knowledge of the Lord with our Biblical-based curriculum, which includes: Phonics – Reading – Writing – English – Social Studies – Science – Science Lab – Math – Bible – Art – Music – Physical Education – SEL (Social Emotional Learning) - Chapel services – Field Trips (in Middle School) – Educational Assemblies.
